Here at The Bike Shed we pride ourselves on being Margate’s go-to local cycle experts. Pop into our high street shop or get in contact for a service with a smile and some free advice. We repair and sell bikes, e-bikes, balance bikes and any parts or accessories that you may need.
We repair scooter flats and fit solid tires too. We also love to restore and carry out custom builds. Bike and electric bike hire is also available. Most of all we are always happy to talk bikes. We love our job and we love bikes!!
ZIGGY – Shop Manager
Ziggy has worked in retail since 2004 with the last 7 years in the bike industry. Ziggy has a passion for bikes, physics and engineering.
Bike – KMX Recumbent trike, custom build Schwinn Stingray converted to electric.
Preferred type of riding – Cross country and cruising.
Favourite part of the job – Rewiring and detailing bikes.
JAMES – Workshop Manager
James has been in the industry professionally since 2017 but like many people has been working on bikes since he could ride.
Bike – Trek remedy with lots of custom upgrade.
Preferred type of riding – Anything in the dirt or on a mountain and anything with jumps.
Favourite part of the job – Custom builds.
CHRIS – e-bike Technician
Chris has been in the industry professionally since 2019 with previous experience in mechanics and computers.
Bike – Knapp e-bike with upgrades.
Preferred type of riding – Cruising long distance in comfort and style. Loves to feel the wind in his hair.
Favourite part of the job – Anything with electronics or anything that requires a crazy solution.
KYLE – P/T Technician
Our part time technician Kyle recently joined the team and is looking to further his knowledge within the industry. Always happy to help anyone with everything.
Bike – Saracen jump bike, hoping to upgrade sometime soon.
Preferred type of riding – Any and all, just loves being on his bike.
Favourite part of the job – Fitting brake pads.
JAKE – P/T Technician
Jake has just joined the industry part time and currently training as a technician.
Bike- Lapierre edge 9.9 – stock and always clean.
Preferred type of riding – Leisure riding and cross country.
Favourite part of the job – Bike builds fresh out of the box.
